Say YES.

Im on my way to my new work place to sign the appointment letter now.

Im so looking forward to enjoying work, to love my job n my life.

Being in my previous job for 1yr 4 mths, I know what Im looking for in my next role. The boss, the environment, the culture n the job itself.

Importantly, I miss working. I miss loving my job. And your full time job shapes your life, your time and your mood.

When I drag my feet to work, hate the job that I do, hate my boss, have horrible colleagues, it is so difficult to be happy. It is so difficult to perform. When morale is low, nothing seems to go right. And this affects your family and friends as well.

Pessimism is contagious. So don't spread it! Make a move! Say yes to change! Say yes to be happy! Say YES to loving your life!

[Part 1] Pator Weekend: Banyan Tree Spa

Last weekend was an awesome one because my xdd took leave on Saturday (yes, he works every other Sat), we decided to have an adventure!

We took a train since it's really pointless to drive to town.
Smile~! anw, train rides are short now when we're playing game. :D

Since it's pointless to do outdoor activities these days (I've been observing, raining every single day last week), we decided to do something indoor!

Destination: Marina Bay Sands, Tower 1, 55th Floor
Banyan Tree Spa

We were slightly late and there's someone else behind our appt, so we had to forgo the complimentary foot bathe. but we're still all smiles~~

My xdd loves the lemon grass tea served~

My second time to Banyan Tree Spa @ MBS
This is xdd's first, but he has been to BT Spa @ BT Phuket if you remember...

Got a little distracted in the room and forgot to take picture.

Basically, the treatment room is a couple room overlooking the CBD area with a bathtub by the full length window. We both did Balinese massage; no reason to get into the bathtub.
There is an oversized changing room for us and bathrobes to change into (which I still cant figure out why to this day since I wear it for 1 min and walk to the bed, and take it off again for the massage) and of cos to lock all my earrings and stuff in the safe.

The 60mins balinese massage was good, as expected, and xdd actually find this better than the one we did in BT Phuket (well, but one factor is because there were mozzies in our spa villa and he keep getting bitten and is itching instead of enjoying it).

If you're interested in doing it, it's S$200++ for a 60mins Balinese massage.
An indulgence yes.

happy boy after the massage

Our spa room

This kinda look sleepy/cheesy like some family portrait I know, I think we've yet to wake up.
(yup, I fell asleep) LOL

Looking out the window eating dragon fruit, papaya and green apple.

Sipping my calm lemongrass tea

#likeaboss

Ambience: 5/5
Massage: 5/5 (I tried medium-strong pressure this time while xdd tried soft-medium. If it's your first time, try medium)
Service: 4.5/5 (Thai hospitality is always good~ but the receptionist is not Thai though, and she kind of rush us through [ya, I know that's because I was late, but I DID pay $200+ for each person right?])
Cost: 3/5 (Given the location, service and quality, it's actually quite justifiable. But still feel the pinch, so 3/5)

Overall assessment: Will go again when I'm rich.

Since we're here, we might as well go up to the sky park for a look~

Gardens by the bay
View from the top.

Yup, he's trying to look funny again. :)

And then, we decided to go down to town for early dinner since there's nothing much at MBS to eat.
xdd suggested to WALK to Marina Square when I'm in my heels...

Of cos I strongly objected and we went town instead.

We had a lot of choices in mind of what to eat but we were indecisive until we reached.
We were still thinking of going paragon when we passed by Coffee Stars by Dao in Wisma Atria.
And my mind was made. :D

Coffee Stars serves fusion Thai and International cuisine, and from the taste of it, the Thai authenticity is quite apparent. Almost forgot about this place after so long. :)

xdd playing game trying to beat my hi-score.
(I think this game deserves a post on, let me do it later)

Cam whoring since I dont have to break my own hi-scores. :D

Thai Ice Tea!!! my favorite favorite of all time.
LOVES~

He had sauteed pork w basil rice which is really spicy, but no kick for him at all (WTF)

We shared a clear tom yam prawn soup,

AND I HAD A RIVER KING PRAWN SPAGETTI
(which is damn good)

We're not sweet lovers, but desserts here are worth trying.

we shared a Green Tea Crepe w Chocolate Sauce~

 Which is really yummy!
But 2 of us were so full we can't really finish. HAHAHA

In case you're thinking to yourself 'I always thought girls have another stomach for desserts, y Mich can't take meh?'

I dont have a sweet tooth or another stomach, I cant stand any form of desserts except ice cream, and asking me to eat more than 1/4 of a slice of cake after dinner will kill me.

Yup, I'm not a girl. Say what you want. :)

Total bill came up to 90ish (sorry cant remember the breakdown) but it was a satisfying meal.

Ambience: 3.5/5 (Middle of the mall, right outside Isetan. But nice hi tea feel)
Food: 4/5 (Try Thai)
Service: 4.5/5 (All good except that the last guy didn't know what cake we ordered)
Cost: 3.5 (slightly pricey for nice Thai fusion but reasonable considering we had a soup, mains, drinks and dessert.)

Overall assessment: Definitely will go again. Good Thai food is so hard to find in SG.

Celebration!- En Dining Bar

To celebrate that I have tendered and had gotten the job I wanted, we went for a shabu shabu and ala carte buffet at En Dining Bar! We went to the Bukit Timah branch @ Crown Centre because it was nearer for us. Nice cozy corner with tatami function rooms. But it was drizzling cold last night, so we sat outside instead.

the first few plates and shabu shabu~ <3
the sashimi was awesome
it's $48++ per pax on weekdys, but the variety of sashimi is more in comparison to other buffet IMO.
staff are friendly and helpful as well.

Mr Happy Boy drooling w the food.

Menu can be found: http://www.endiningbars.com/en/buffet/BT_Buffet.pdf

We had sake and maguro sashimi (many servings), agedashi tofu, grilled shitake, fried white fish, Beef Shabu Shabu n veggie, bean sprouts (yea, that's for me. I love daogei) and we are almost there.

But the sashimi was good, fresh and melts in mouth kind. I dont really fancy maguro (tuna), but this place changed my mind. It was all worth it.

Most importantly, I'm so happy!!

My career seem on track; to want to be a HR manager at 27.
at 24, I will be an Asst HR Manager.

I'm right on track, right on track.

I GOT THE JOB.

I'm so freaking happy!!!

Now checking whether my future boss have any concern if I go off for my Taiwan trip; YEA!!!

I did it!

Everyone who knows me probably knows, that I have a need to leave my job. Very badly.
Since the first month I was there.

But being in HR, I cant afford to hurt my resume by giving people the impression that I'm a job hopper, so I had to stay out the year.

Now that I'm 1 yr 3 mths old and since there’s no AWS, I decided that I should go before next year!

So I’ve finally made the decision to tender!
AND I THREW THE RESIGNATION LETTER LAST EVENING!!!
YEA!!!

I had just rejected an offer with quite a good package last week and am going to push off my initially first choice interview and employer for a second interview with the VP end of this week because....

I've a good feeling about my interview last Saturday.
And I'm keen in that role because:

1. It's hospitality industry again but this time I will actually be out in the field n not sitting in the corporate office

2. It's a managerial role

3. It's what I always wanted! To go back into ops side!

Now I'm really excited about it, but not telling you where yet!
Till I accepted the offer. :p

One Decade of Friendship

We were initially out for an outdoor shoot but it started to rain. zzz

But the rain doesnt dampen our spirits!
Ryleigh's bro, Chek Chong very kindly helped us take some shots at the airport!
(He's quite good at what he do IMO, and a fun chap!)

So all of us headed there and had lots of fun! HEHE

Thanks girls, for being such awesome gfs.

HZ: thanks for bitching all the time. (That's right!) All your bitches and sluts stories are hilarious, I'll never get bored of. Thanks for your concern and love too, I know sometimes you nag (too much) but you meant well.

Ying: thanks for being my sassy gf, for being there when I'm weak, for talking to me when I need. And the crazy times at Waterfront, Bintan etc.

Lin: thanks for NOT READING the WA all the time and being off topic; not forgetting that you're always late. Every clique needs a girl like u so that we can all bitch about when you're late and we have nothing to do.

Our differences makes us strong in what we do, and this decade of friendship proves that no man, no situation, nothing!, can rob us of the friendship.

From love concert, to sarawak, to working in McD in T1, to meet upa when you come back from Aussie, to Isetan and Mango sales, to twice a year Spain trip, through each others lives we live.

It's awesome.
BFF forever!

Cheap Cheap Airfare!

Oh freak. Jetstar is having another mega-sale and the Taipei fares are THE SAME as what Ying got.
-_-
WE COULD HAVE BEEN ON THE SAME FLIGHT.
For those who have not planned for your holiday, Jetstar is having a sale again. Slightly less than S$300 to get to Taipei. Grrr.
OK! On a more positive note, I’ve confirmed our accommodation at a 民宿 in 西門町opposite 阿宗麵線. It will be the first time I will be staying in Taipei but NOT Rainbow Hotel (In case you don’t know, it has one of the best location in Ximending). Reviews later.
This trip will be totally awesome, if you are interested, you can come join us (since I shared the Jetstar deal already) in Taipei; for dinner or something, I will be there from 23-28 Feb 13.
And yes! I will spend my birthday (24 Feb) there! This trip will be very different from my last 3 trip to Taipei cos I’m planning the following:
  • Hanami!- Cherry blossom viewing can be done in places outside Japan!
  • 放天灯 in Shifen- ON MY BIRTHDAY. There is an event that day and the whole town will be flying their lanterns!
  • Wulai- I’ve never been there for their hot spring; only been to Beitou. But I would love to spend a night in a nice hot spring resort there if time allows.
These are just some of the things I’m doing/going for the first time because I did not do it on my last trip. The usual nice and interesting places of cos I will still go, eg. Night market, ez-5, Luxy, shopping, food, massage, etc. Of course I need to show my xdd around too. it’ll be his first time to Taiwan. :)

When I was young, I inspire to be a tour guide. HAHA

But they earn peanuts. :(

Edited: the widgets on Ying's blog is TOO CUTE I had to get one too.
And it's telling me it's telling me Taipei is just 3 months away!!

Good Week!

Finally booked my next holiday!
To Taipei again!! On my birthday!!!

Yea!! Can go hanami!! :D
So exciting!!

This time it will be fun and I will also be going with the Bintan clan!
(Oh shit, reminds me I havent blogged about it.)
*smile sheepishly*

Oh well! It's a good week today!
Offers are coming in and I'm going for second interviews in places I really want to go. :)
Pray hard! It'd be good!

Great Eastern Women's Run 2012

My sis's first run. At point of signing up, she totally wanted to sign up for the 5km while I wanted to sign up for the 21km. However, she's still not of age to participate in the 21km, so we had to settle for something in between; 10km.

I forgot to bring my towel along. Heng sis got extra towel. Although it's small.

hehe, the fun thing of running w kakis, is that u get to camwhore after the run.

Just pose w the medal. :D
Haolian boy like to wear ironman shirt out. LOL

This is my first women's run. I don't think I will ever join again.
I was late yesterday and I started running about 15mins after flag off (so there's hardly anyone in front). After 3km+, I finally caught up w the whole mass of people in front and....

THEY ARE ALL WALKING.

I felt like this is more of a walkathon than a run.

So no more women's run for me.

Some of you may argue that it's really because I was late which is true, but I dont see so much mass walking in other runs still.

AND THEY WALK, THEY WALK IN A STRAIGHT LINE.

SIDE BY SIDE.

4-5 PAX.

Seriously, I obviously can tell you guys aint running the run.
But this is not your grandpapa road pls!!

oh well, but overall, the run is quite well organised la.
Although I wouldnt join it again. :D

Halloween FrightFest 2012 @ Flyer

That's right!
Your eyes are not playing tricks on you.
The girl who dont like to waste money to watch ghost movies to scare myself, went for Halloween this year!

This started as an innocent question one day while xdd was driving and Halloween was approaching.
I asked if he celebrated Halloween before and he said he didn't and thereafter is super enthusiastic to join.

So, with some hesitation, I asked my dear Ying and Stan along (ya, I dont know why we keep double dating since Bintan) since the more the merrier.

Ying is also like me, have this certain fear of watching horror shows and threshold for such nonsense is quite low. So, I researched on the LEAST scary Halloween event, and settled on the FrightFest at Singapore Flyer!

On the cab to meet Ying and Stan for White Bee Hoon @ Sembawang.
Ying had NEVER eaten this before even though she is Yishunist.
*Shame on u Ying.*

And here we are! Ying bought the tickets online ($28/pax), so there she is getting our tickets to hell.

Yup, it's the Undead Forest.
In reality, it's really the small "garden" (actually just a few trees and bushes) in the middle of the main circular building. The trail is only a mere 10 min walk.

Tickets to hell.

This is the scared face btw. Stop looking elsewhere.

Ok, he's perfectly not into the scared face thing. LOL

the queue~
why are so many people here waiting to get scared?

me and my sassy timid gf.

and my cheeky hornee looking xdd.

Last smile before we head in!

Ok, here's the story-telling part, because obviously I was too tramatised to take any photo.
I went in and I was freaking scared. FREAKING scared, is an understatement.

I was TOTALLY FREAKED OUT.
Apparently, the "ghosts" will haunt the fella that looks most afraid and STICK to him/her.
And unfortunately, that's me.

I was screaming my lungs off and the guy keep pestering me.
Xdd concluded that it was because my shirt was too revealing and they want to see more.
BUT I DUN CARE.

I'M FREAKING SCARED AND MINDFUGGED.
I WAS SCREAMING MY LUNGS OUT.
I CAN'T WALK.
I'M SHIVERING ALL OVER AND HOLDING ON TO MY XDD.
CRYING.

All I can say is, "工作人员~~!!"
And the hero was spotted in black.
He walked ahead of us, and stopped all the scary people from scaring us and we were out in a jiffy while I was wailing all the way.

After this, I just want to say 2 things:

1. NO MORE HALLOWEEN FOR ME. who the f suggested this anyway?! (oh its me. hehe)
2. My xdd is the man. He's so brave but I frightened him quite a bit from all the shivering and crying and wailing.

So much for a Halloween.
I felt a little guilty for wasting Ying & Stan's $28/ea but they were like telling me Ying was crying and all too, and I felt slightly better.

Next time, I will promise to read the warnings carefully and take it for real.
(The warning said something like; This is not for the preggies, weak hearted,.... and the scaredy cats.)

yea... I'm a scaredy cat... *purr*

Happy 4th Monthiversary!

This is an open love declaration.
_____________________________________

Hi love, happy 4th monthiversary!
Thanks for bringing me joy in my life, and being the funniest, wittiest nonsense I've ever met.
You've never failed to cheer me up when I am down, pamper me like a princess when you can, catch me when I'm falling and hold me when I am weak.

Thanks for being strong and unwavering. Even when I was unsure, you held on tight.
Thanks for loving me.

I love you. Not just because of the things you do for me, everytime I see you, I fall in love again.
I never thought I can fall in love this many times with the same person.

Even when you behave like a child (which is like 90% of the time), it's still oh-so-cute.
You must be a road sweeper in you past life, cause you never failed to sweep me off my feet every single day that I see you.

I love you. :)

Yes, even when you are smiling unknowingly at the camera with mayonaise on your nose. :D
I ISH STILL LUB U DE!!!! hahahahaha~~~

Crab Feast @ Marsiling 136 kopitiam :D

We are back here again!
This time there's only the 2 of us.
And so much food!!

Stingray, small kailan and salted egg crab. OMGOMGOMG

I was having a really bad day at work that day, and we impulsively went to find some comfort food.
Food here is not bad if you live in Woodlands, dont order Chilli crab, nth fantastic.
Their butter/salted egg is quite good. :D

Very comforting!

It's difficult to go on a diet when you get burnt out at work!
When I'm stress I eat, when I come home daily, I'm so exhausted I can't run.
All I do is to lie on my bed, and fall asleep.
I'm increasingly more and more concern about this, because this can't do.

SO, I'M NOW LOOKING FOR A JOB!
Going for an interview tonight and Friday.
Hopefully, something good will come out of it!

Everyday, I dream that I can throw my letter in your face.

Blood Brothers on Android

Recently, xdd and I have been hooked on this game!
and successfully reconverted some people in our group chat to download or re-install the game. :D

An RPG game where you are a hero-turned-vampy warlord, who helped the king build the empire. The exact king grew corrupted and it's time to bring him down. The only way, is to bind the familiars (your sub characters) in a pact of blood to create a strong army to fight the evil. Collect or evolve Common, Un-Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary Familiars to do so.

My warlord, main character, is a samurai~ hehe.

We have been sleeping with our phones in hands recently due to the competitive nature in our blood. So it's really funny if you can imagine it. If you are too free, you can try this game out! But the downside is, it runs on the internet, so unless you are on a stable wifi, game play might be laggy due to connectivity.
(Like now because as I blog, I've no idea why my phone suddenly lost mobile connection. Singtel sucks)

Anyway, in case you are gg to start new on this game, after tutorial, you will be able to key in an Invite ID which you can use mine to receive a prize or familiar!

Have fun!

Virgin Brazilian Waxing @ Revive Wellness

Apologise in advance cos I was too nervous to take any pict!
Well as the title suggest, I went for my first Brazilian waxing appointment last Thursday with Ying.

Well, Ying kinda coaxed me into the trial session as we were actually planning to do it before Bintan.
But sadly, it was kinda inconvenient for her to do it then and thus we postponed it. Trial session was $18! (Think she got it from some deal website)

I've terrible threshold for pain and doing this was a crazy idea.

This was in summary what took place
1. Change into their kimono
2. Go for a quick wash of my vjj
3. Went into torture chamber where they pull up the kimono and start with the waxing

Process of waxing is warm, scary and 2-3 seconds of pain. It was unexpected the first time that I screamed. and thereafter I'm damn noisy with my therapist in the room.
(Ying was complaining that she can hear me from the next room and it's damn embarassing)

but hey! It's my first time, and I was already biting a towel already ok?!?!

Note: If it is your first time, leave at least 1cm of hair for clean removal. If you shave often, it would be more painful than if you dont shave.

After 5-6 strips and one at my pigu, I'm all clean and and baby smooth!!

Therapist said next session will only get less and less painful as the hair that grows out becomes finer.

Some of the benefits of waxing compared to shaving:

  • You are less likely to experience unsightly ingrown hairs
  • Results of waxing can last at least twice as long
  • No cuts or scrapes from shaving blade or hasty technique
  • Most importantly, complete smoothness as opposed to stubble
Recommended waxing schedule: Every 5 weeks
Quoted from http://revivewellness.com.sg

After contemplating for a while, we both decided to each take a mini package of 3 more sessions @ $126 to feel the difference. Afterall, the result was quite worth the pain and the therapist will put pressure on my vjj immediately after pulling out the wax which Ying heard from her friends that not all waxing place and therapists does this. (it is damn pain if you dont put pressure to sooth it and of course she wears gloves)

Overall, I thought it was a good first experience!

Note: Try to not shave at all for at least 1 month before going, I still have stubs that are too short to wax off, so still have some stubs left.. But no worries the next time! I'll blog about this again the next session. :)
